World's Best Hot Chocolate
By Katelyn Weel
Cold weather is here, snow is coming soon... what better way to fight off the bitter winter than to cozy up with a good book and a huge mug of hot chocolate.
How to Make It:
Use instant hot chocolate, but don't cheap out! This is your treat to yourself, so go fancy. My personal favourite is Cocoa Camino milk or dark hot chocolate. It's organic, fair trade, and very high quality.
While you're waiting for the water to boil, add the hot chocolate mix to the mug and splash in a little bit of soy milk (or real milk) and mix it up really well until the powder is like a paste. This will stop any lumps from forming, and make it nice and frothy when you pour the water in.
Add a good dose of Bailey's Irish Cream (optional, of course).
Once the water is boiled, add it to the mug and viola! For an extra special treat, make a nice topping of whipped cream, sprinkle on some of the hot chocolate mix (or cocoa powder) and top with some chocolate sprinkles.
Enjoy!

Very interesting. I like the way you wrote "add a good dose of Bailey's Irish cream". For me that would be a few doses. Thanks for sharing, I think I can face the winter now. :)
Love the suggestion - and love that the brand you suggest is free trade. Will definately be on the outlook for it.
Thanks for the commments! I agree, the Bailey's makes the drink :P and yes Cocoa Camino is definitely a good brand to watch out for, it's usually in the organics (ie. expensive) section at Loblaws, or something similar at whatever major grocery store you shop at.. its pricey but I think if you use it sparingly it's that much more of a treat when you do drink it!
I'm always open to a new hot chocolate recipe and this one sounds particularly good. Bailey's...why not?
